Then again, what's a celebration without noise??!
39 people gathered together in Gary & Meiling's beautiful & big house for our year-end thanksgiving. Woo.. it was really fun as we got to know more friends from the other CGs in our own zone! We literally cheered the whole place down! (let's really pray & hope the neighbours didn't complain.. hee)
The evening started off with a rowdy game of Human Bingo! Gamemasters, Gary & Lisa, made everyone scramble around looking for people to fit the descriptions on their cards to hit a BINGO. All of a sudden, people were running here & there, squeezing their way round just to find that special someone who can sign on their cards. *sweat* Of course, as a pregnant woman, I failed to get my 6 signatures on time! I was just short of one! To think that nobody has pity on me and come looking for me instead! sigh....
Then it was a time of praise & worship led by Tristan! The presence of God was strong! Come on, with two very talented & anointed guitarists - Sabie & Alec, what do you expect??! It was a vibrant time when everyone just sang from their hearts with a true heart of thanksgiving to God for a great 2005.
As the programme moved on, we heard testimonies from 3 members, each representing their own CG, about what God has done for them in Year 2005. Truly, God is a faithful God. He brings us from glory to glory! Each testimony we heard, we can't help but thank God from our hearts and rejoice together with them. Indeed, God deserves all the glory!
Offering came next. It was a beautiful time as Lifeng shared about how if we put God first and seek Him first in everything we do, He will reward us and bless us back abundantly! Everyone just gave from their hearts. It was not the amount. But the sincere heart of giving.
Next came the really interesting part! Lifeng & my CG prepared a powerpoint presentation each, showing photographs and snippets of events and interesting things that happened in Year 2005. As everyone watched the powerpoint presentations, we were all immersed in the beautiful memories and fun in the past year. Wow.. what a great year it has been, really. : )
Then it's time for a short sharing of God's Word by yours truly. : ) At the end of the day, after all the excitement and hype, it is God's Word that will remain strong and powerful in our lives! Indeed, like I shared with the people, Year 2005 may have been a fantastic year for many of us, and a not-so-good year for some others. But yet, despite everything that happened, the most important thing is that we are all still together, smiling at each other, with hope and joy in our hearts. The important thing is to really look forward to a much greater year in 2006 and look forward to great blessings and miracles in our lives!
To my beloved members in N252...
It's been a great year spent with all of you and I am proud to say that I have seen the growth in all of you, in one way or another. Really, my life would not be so wonderful without you guys. God has shown His faithfulness to me by giving me everyone of you, and I am so so so thankful for all of you! I love all of you with all my heart and I know that Year 2006 will be an even greater year for all of us. Let's really look forward to it!! :)
